Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Hey Matt, just had a thought, have a look at the film "Treamors" with Kevin Bacon, they have some Giant worms in that which might help you visulise the animation etc..

Very nice work so far, I read the pre-quels to the Dune novel and started thinking about doing some models from the series too user added image I had just picked up Maya when I was reading it, started working on a spice harvester and dropped the idea due to school. Now I might just have to finish it and add it in here user added image

Thanks guys, i havent had much time to work on it lately... school and sports takes up a big chunk of my time

The background is acheived using Mental Ray and Image Based lighting through HDR images. Tell me if you need more explination user added image

I haven't had much time with this... I play on my high school's ski team so I'm ski racing 2 days a week and running another 4, so I don't have much time.

I'll try to work on it some time this weekend though user added image

image based lighting, you put an image into which node where matt? I know its MR, is it a dome (sphere) with an image (HDR) mapped to it??
