Ok I have run into my first real problem, I was messing around with mentalray and final gather and mentalray will not render if my scene conatins any displacment maps.... Is there any way to render this scene other than converting my displacment maps into actual geometry?

there something different about your tyres though.

are the groove supposed to be like that?

(A groove is the sunken part of a tyre's tread)

it looks to me like they are in the opposite way.

or my eyes are getting worse.

Yeh your both right about the tires, but there actually supposed to be that way. A monster truck needs to have tires designed so that they grip muddy surfaces very well, normal tires would cause the truck to slip.

That's a nice looking shader you got there. I'd keep it with the textures when you put them on.
