No Alpha

Hey guys

My turn to call in with a question for once.

With regards to the MISSS_fast Skin shader, I cant get an Alpha
channel from the object its applied on, have you any idea why this could be?
The object IS on a render layer...

Cheers
Jay

Do you have the Pass Surface colour to alpha (or something like that) setting ticked in the custom entities of the mental ray render globals?

Think that was the solve to my mental ray alpha woes.

Cheers

Steve

Hey there Jay,

try attaching the output from the fast skin to the colour input of another shader and attaching the new shader to the surface. You will need to tinker with the values to make the shader look the same as the original but it's worth a shot and you will get an alpha.

Later,

Mat.

Cheers Jay and Mat, no probs.

I remembered it from a post on here a long, long, long time ago so I cant take all the credit for it. Its seems a strange work round for an alpha if you ask me but hey there you go!

Cheers

Steve
