Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Are you the same coldwave who has moddeled an entire streetscene and a pretty decent start at a table in de w.i.p. forum?
But because i'm in a good mood ;
I ussually start when making stuff with something basic a sort of very rough model (see image)and with all the polytools i will add detail, i personally don't like working with sub-d's, but you could.

really excellent choice for a model coldwave. user added image

yeah, as mastone said, start off by getting the basic shape - i would focus on the main body first as it's fairly easy.

make sure you use references. If you can try to get a fairly close reference of the receiver on its own that will really help.
