Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

1st Character Model

st Character_WIP

My first real character

Here is the back ground on my character. He is a scout. His inner chest ie the circle opens up to reveal a mobile camera, like the one you see on Scfi's "exposure". Since he's a scout he won't carry to much armament just a rife, I'll be drawing that this evening at work. Where his belly button is there is an internal mechanism that resembles a cord with a can on the end, this acts as a way to eat/recharge along with extracting information from fallen enemy units. His back pack is basically his main communication pack and will carry extra amo, motion sensors, and remote detonation charges that can be loaded into the mobile camera for stealthy depolyment. On his right arm there will be a display screen based off of the one in "Red Planet" so He is able to see what the camera sees. The cooest thing I have added is a circular hole in his rear (hehe), that's a telescoping tripod that retracts out to provide stablization while he is engaging a target. I am not sure if I am going to add a pair of rocket packs in the legs yet. I am sure I have left out a few things so if your curios just drop a note and I'll try to answer. This will be my first character done right ie the steps, pencile tests, modeling ect.. I ordered 3DBuzz's character rigging tape so hopefully I'll have it modeled by the time it arrives. I still have a little polishing up to do so I'll get everything to line up right. I plan on starting the modeling process tomorrow after work.

attached are my sketches,

Thanks,
Kassun

Finished the Leg. I had to shorten the side and back part of the foot otherwise he would get hung up while walking. I still have the wires to add so back to work. Comments good or bad welcome.
