looks good ckyUK, and there is such a weapon as the AR-15... and a CAR to0.
if you get board after this i may be able to get hold of some l85A2 pictures (SA80 A2) (technical drawings)
jsut so you know, i believe the ar-15 is the civilian version of the m1a1 assault rifle used in vietnam, meaning there is no fully automatic or burst capability. it also looks like your rifle has a collapsable stock, mind you those or only available on the m4's or the xm-whatever, not the m1a1(AR-15). im just drawing this out of memory, so if someone knows the subject better, please respond.
just to correct you mr bojangles...the m1a1 was used in second world war..
it is also known as m1 carbine...i have here a link to a page where all various models of the m4 or m16 are listed.
btw. ckyuk: the weapon you made there isn't an ar-15
go on the page i posted and you see how an ar-15 looks like.
this is just to help you and not to offend you...
well not to say im right or anything, and i im not trying to ruin your thread,
However im sure when i participated in Operation Phenonix, at Fort Dix in New Jersey, as part of the EOD team they said we could use The AR-15 . (it was 5 years ago thou - my memory does play tricks).
Ar-15 is the civilian version of teh M16, th eM1 carbine, as stated was used in WW2.., a better version of the M1 Grande, in my opinion...
The AR-15, can be made to fire full auto.. Just not as bought, thetre are kits for it though, that you can use for that...granted you ahve to have a federal automatic firearms permit....
or if your just this good.. you coudl ride the recoil off it.. what lttle there is on a well constructed one..
, and.. while that model posted, looks to have potential....cant wait to see another update fori t..
its not, and ar-15.. i myust comply with that statement...
Sorry. The reference picture i was using was of an airsoft rifle and someone had titled it as an AR-15, looks like i might be modelling a Colt Commando.
Is this frame rendered with MR?? For some reason I still cant get those type of results to get that real objext look... What are your settings?? BTW is that just a grey plane behind it??
It's rendered with the standard maya renderer. No, the grey isn't a plane if click "View > Select Camera" then press Ctrl + A to open the camera settings and scroll down to enviroment you can alter the backgroud colour. The lighting is standard 3 point lighting, there is a tutorial here by mtmckinley that shows how to set that up. Raytracing on the main light. Anti-aliasing set to production.
