rendering capacity

Hi There!
I am working with MAYA 6 and when rendering with MAYA Vector I notice that only 25% of the CPU goes to work/ Why is this if I have a dual CPU PC?

i think u can only tell mental ray to use both cores or both cpu's

in task manager u can give it higher piority so that more processer will be used by it

Now at SMU doing BSc 3D Computer Animation so its hard to get on here

Another thing to note is that sometimes, the PC won't use all of your cores for some reason. For instance, I have a dual core dual Xeon Workstation here at work, and sometimes a render will use all 4 cores at like 95%. But, other times, it will only use a fraction of all 4, or even just 2 of them. And, even toying around with the affinity and the priority does nothing. Which sucks, but oh well. I don't know what causes it, and I've done a ton of research on it.
