For the smashed glass pane you could google an image of broken/smashed glass, put it into PS and grayscale/play about with it then map it to the transparancy of the cube, and then poss to the spec too to get the different reflective properties of a broken glass window??
hello all got back to my little project finally... here's a lighting update Witt FG turned OFF. just so it would render quicker so i could see how the lighting would work.. im pretty happy with the look. ill be adding a street lamp where the yellow light is, i also decided on removing the glass smashed look too. also i added some grass,

its a hdri i was trying out yeah to make it dusk but i just finished the render and wasnt happy with the results. so im now trying to work on a background similar to the field and sky in the last render. maybe without a hdri. hopefully i can get one up for tonight.
