Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Okay all

as promised, some more models I did with a bit of a write up on a couple

Tony Blair

The idea on this was that he's out in Panama or somewhere like that drinking cocktails and phoning up Gordon Brown playing jokes on him. The design for this went thru another iteration shortly after, I had to remove the tie, open the jacket and give him a Hawaiian shirt, once I get the renderer of that I'll post it.

Hillary Clinton

Boy this one was a mission!! This is actually the 3rd version, I only did the head on this model (on the third attempt) somebody else did the suit etc. It was a bit of a mess and I retopologised it to get it to look right, the hair was the worst to get done, again I rebuilt that entirely with subds.

Katie Holmes or Cruise...

This is a complete redesign, by another of the talented art directors on the show, Warren Osbourne, though the facial features remain mostly the same design by Mark Reeve, this was another problem model. She first started off in Jeans and a tshirt with lank hair, but after the gossip going around about her and Tom Cruise it was decided she should become like a robot and very stepford wife...the hair went thru a couple of changes before settling on this one

unfortunately Ive done my stint on the show already so I wont be doing anymore, but Im still trying to get the other render thru from th studio.

Vlad:

yeah tell me about it, it really pissed me off on somedays. One guy in particular sent me an email from the other studio literally giving up on one model, he couldnt do edge loops around the eyes, it does make me wonder how these people fudge their way into these types of jobs.

Some of the 9 sided polys were a blast to tidy up...NOT!

did you sort the video probs out in the end?
