This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

he's just supposed to be jacob marley from a christmas carol. i'm not sticking completely to the description in the story but it does mention him wearing a bandage on his head - i guess from how he died. user added image

I'm pretty sure the bandage around the jaw is placed there after death (before rigor mortis sets in) to keep the jaw from falling open, as the muscles are relaxed. It's not necessarily an indicator of how he died.

Nowadays they just wire the jaw shut. . .

yeah - i think you're right steve. i had a play with the alpha gain and offset after reading a few tutorials and i think i got it looking a a bit better.
