extrude faces

every time i extrude faces it stuffs up by unmerging the new extruded faces vertices and then slowly splits the in differnt directions any tips on how to fix this

I'm having such a problem as well in maya 8.5. in my case 'keep faces together' is on but it still splits my face. Any suggestions?

to everyone how's having this problem, I set offset in extrude[] to zero and it works fine now!
