Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

saving

I have a problem, I have maya 4.5 at home and uni has maya 5.0. My maya files work in uni, but the uni files do not work at home. The uni has macs, and I have a pc.

Any advice would be grateful.

you cannot open higher version files on lower versions. They're not backwards compatible.

There is a way around it. First, make sure you save your Maya 5 file as a .MA file. Then, open the .MA file in a text editor. At the top of the file, you can change the Requires attribute from 5.0 to 4.0. Save the file. You can now open it in Maya 4. Keep in mind that this may not always work, depending on what you're doing in the scene file. Some things are specific to Maya 5 and are not backwards compatible.
