Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

BUG?!? PaintFX and semi-transparent objects

I ran into a weird problem. Let's say i make a nurbs plane and a sphere on top of it. Then I add some pfx grass on the plane and render -> it's ok...an example follows:

But if you paint a tranparency map to the sphere the pfx sees the whole sphere transparent thus showing the grass through the whole object:

Isn't that weird? Do you get the same results? I think it's a bug.

Well, the only way I can figure around this is to render separate layers (one with a correct mask) and composite with photoshop or something...
