Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Dom: trying to get as realistic as possible but unfortunately i don't think its going to happen, but i'm gonna try as best i can. I'm just not sure as to the technique or placement. Texturing happens to be my weakest point in this whole precess. i've already come to the conclusion that she's going to look like she probably came out of pixar... the very dark corners of pixar where all the repression resides...

Dave: access, yes. Know-how... mmm not so much... Plus all the reference pics i have she's in full make up and getting one without is damn near impossible unless i can convince her to send me some directly.

There is a good tut using mudbox............dave

Edit:If you wanted to paint her without makeup get a good quality pic of a girl the same age without makeup and in mudbox you can get the stencil to wrap to match face

thx for that, but like i said i would need one where she doesn't have any makeup on of which i would probably need her to send to me directly. but in the mean time here's some more renders I tried adding some variation to the skin color its REALLY subtle though so i dunno if you'll be able to see it in the cheeks and forehead. here's a before and after you may have to open both in tabs and switch between to see the changes... Also changed some of the light settings added some falloff etc.

Edit: added a specular map as seen in the 3rd pic.

I think that I'm going to leave her as a stylized character until i can get her to get teh gumption to send me the pics i need because well, I'm OCD like that... So any crits that have to do with texturing please keep them in mind of me leaving it as stylized thx user added image
