Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

You know what would look neat, is a hydrolic piston looking thing between the calf and thigh. Right now the knee looks to be a simple hinge with nothing to actuate it.

Made the tips of his toes a bit transparent. The reference I have of the frogs, there toes are just a bit see through with a real wet look. So i'll be doing a good spec map for that.....

This is looking fantastic Kurt, can't wait to see the finished product. Are you painting textures for the entire model, or will you be using proceduurals on some of him (the mechanical parts) ?

Tim..... right now all the texturing is PS.. I'm still trying to come up with an idea of what I want for the mech parts...

Can go with chrome, steel... Not sure yet the mask will be rubber as will some of the parts on the legs.. that will be done in PS. But if i can make a nice look with a shader for the mech parts, it would save me a lot of time=)

What about a plastic for the mec stuff? or some sort of alloy- what ever the material is it would have to be pretty light weight, seeing as a frog is a fairly weak animal.

I think you have a great shot at taking the comp K. - I really like the dog-hamster model too. you two are my favs so far

hehe H thanks buddy.. I'll see what i can come up with for the mech parts.. As far as my chances i can do pretty good if the final image rocks and is different.. To be honmest I think your concept is the best most oringinal concept in the challenge... both in concept and uniquness...

Keep in touch brother..
