image plane control problems

When I create an image plane in the side view, I also
want to see it in the other views - so far so good.
BUT, when I adjust the alpha in the side view image plane,
the Perspective view is not affected and remains a bright
solid.

How do I control the brightness / color / contrast of
the "other cameras" view of my "side camera" image plane?

Also, how can I move the image plane(s)?

Cheers,

TH

yo

I would also like to know how to adjust the transparency in perspective views...

But to move an image plane, goto camera attribute editor - the image plane options and looks for placement extras I think... Try adjusting the values from center.

Thanks Troyy - I'll give that a go later.

One thing that I have been seeing is that
*some* people don't use those camera
image planes at all. They just use a
poly plane and put on a file texture (image).
Seems like a good idea since you can
put in on a layer and have all kinds of
control.

cheers

Lol, *some*?
Almost everyone around this place prefers the poly plane to the image plane. :p

Not I. I setup my image plane and put it in a layer, then I hide the layer when Im not directly using it.

well, the one drawback to using a poly-plane is that your
viewport has to be in hardware-shading ALL the time....
a bit troubling.

I really like to learn to use the image-plane. Any additional
help please.

to get a "wireframe" of the model and keeping hardware texturing on, I generally control the model's transparancy and turn on "Wire on Shaded" in the Shading options.
