Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Maya 6.0 crash

This is really driving me crazy. At last I got Maya 6.0, and Mental Ray, but everytime I try to render with Mental Ray the whole *@$!- thing crash. And always with the sane error message in the output window

.PAR 0.0 error 021310: no connection to 0
PAR 0.0 error 021018: msg send to 0 failed

using a FX5700 card

Does anyone know what to do

i did a google search and came across another couple people with this problem.
they didn't seem to solve the problem, though.
one of the threads suggested it was a firewall problem, and the other thought it was a CPU connection problem.

hope you can get this sorted, though.
maybe try posting a question on Alias's support forums?

It was the firewall that caused the problem, turned it off and everything worked like clockwork. It was really the last thing I would have thoughed of !!

thanks for your reaction f50.
