Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

custom string attributes in the channel box and spreadsheet view

does anyone know how to make a custom string attribute show up in the attribute spread sheet editor or the channel box? I can get all the other data types to show up, but the string won't for some reason, and I can't find any documentation on it...

thanks, dave.

I don't think that's possible. After all strings are just arrays of characters (numbers in the end). There might be a workaround but I doubt it...

ok, well basically what i want to do is make it really easy to tag a polygon with a date string. so it would be really cool to have a date picker in mel, but I can't seem to find one, i thought I could at least speed up the process by getting the extra date field to show up in the channel box.

thanks for your help,
dave
