Particle Fire - Instance

Hello All! I was hoping for abit of help on this one, but I may be reaching outside of the basic limits.

I have modeled a mailbox and an envelope. The mailbox has an emitter with the envelope as instance for particles.

I would like to add Fire to the flying envelopes. I have tried adding fire to the main envelope object, but it does not apply to the instances.

Is this possible?

TIA!

it is possible ....but bare with me cause i think i am right in saying you have to first create the object and add the fire, then with it set at the origin you instance it to particles in your scene afterward.
i'm a little tired right now to check so hopefully someone can confirm this for you.

Hello jsprogg! Thanks for the reply! I was presented with failure upon trying your suggestion. Maybe its something im missing.

I have the envelope geometry original, with fire attached. Then I add to particle instance.

When I play the sim, the envelope instances show up, however, only the original geometry emits fire.

Is there another way to accomplish this? Ive been using Maya for a while, but I have no formal training.
