Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Too green, methinks. Not much in the way of texture detail.

Not to bad an attempt to get it looking like the real thing (Better than what I could do)

Jack Of Spades, I found this Copper patina as a reference for you, so you can get an idea as to what the texture looks like.

Keep it Up... nice armour.

Ok, in this one I used better bump mapping and better transparencies in a layered shader.

Oh yes, and Garry1953's file too.

Also, I used a bunch of files from here

It looks pretty good to me - maybe a little on the dark side. The part that does not look real to me is the very shiny copper with a hard edge beside the oxidized copper - I can't imagine how that would happen in real life.

Also, I found this hi-res image of the Statue of Liberty using Google image search that might give a good reference for the colour.

Now I'm playing with the lights... it kinda sucks because takes 10(I counted!) minutes to render every time...

the sword looks like just a hunk of metal than a man-made weapon... I understand you want to go for old, rusted, corroded look, but try to make the objects recognizable, too.

Keep it up!

here's a thought. Is that an archeological excavation? I mean, because it looks like someone dug there, there is no fresh grass or anything. Well, in that case, then you could have equipment laying around, and those strings that you see marking areas in an excavation in the discovery channel.
Also, considering that the armor was buried, it looks pretty clean, you should add some dirt to it or something.
