batch render problems (insight)

yes theres been like 5000 threads on problems on batch rendering heres some info on why its not batch rendering. Found this in the Maya help command see isnt it useful?

The batchRender will spawn a separate maya process in which commands will be communicated to it through a commandPort. If Maya is unable to find an available port an error will be produced. Maya will attempt to use ports 7835 through 7844.

Now looking through my available ports there were none within these numbers so yes ive got a question too but how do i make a port for this?

I also had the problem with batch render. To all of those, who also have it:
Delete your prefs !!!
Own datas->maya->(version)->prefs (on a windows xp system)
But remember to make a backup in case anything does not work.
