how do I contorl the fur?

Hi,

I am adding fur to a ferret, and I want the fur to be shorter around the head area, like around the eyes mouth and nose. Is there a way to have more then one fur on one model, like a fur per area, like one for the head one for the body one for the legs etc? And also fuller fur to as you can see in the pic that the fur is less around the head area, I want more (fuller) fur, but shorter.

you can paint attributes for the fur. select surface and in the fur menu go to paint attributed. From there you can select what you want to do such has control length select baldness and in the paint attributes put the opacity to .5 or something and than brush over the areas you want shorter. I hope this helps. There are many other ways of doing this.
