Hey J,

Thanks a lot mate, I appriciate your help and kind words..

I went with the bigger flippers as you said, and tried to put a big ol' knuckle/elbow to add a bit more infrastructure. And, I still managed to keep some details from previous models, it's a good job Mike found that picture for me...

so again - Thanx dude.

Hey Murph
No probs. I think its important to get reference even for something that you're gonna make up, cos it'll help with things like mouths, limbs and above all form of an object. So the reptile look for yours has come from a croc/alligator even though it isn't one.
I've got some creature stuff coming up soon and I have shit load of reference of elephants, rhinos, Komodo dragons and all sorts of reptile and mammals etc. Theres some good sites with fairly hi res images you could use for textures too.

Hey Murph

All the best with the uvs etc. If you get stuck you know where I'm at if ya cant get me here. Also if its underwater use a spot light with fog, plus some particles for bits in the water

Excellent Job!! Nothing else to say really, just keep going. Maybe a planar on 'Y' for those fins top and bottom then sew one edge.

Keep Well
