Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

dont know whether its just what I see but the book looks like it is floating. If you look at the white container next to the sink it has a fine dark shadow linke which makes it look on top of the surface. The other container near it has a more gradual shadow but gives the same effect.
Maybe making the reflective shadow under the book and banana a little darker will bring them out of the surface a little.

I think the reflection of the banana back on itself is too bright and removes the rounded look that it should have.

Cup looks good tho user added image

Also the top of the pages in the book look too dark - they should be reflecting more light than they currently do.

Only opinions though as I wouldn't be able to do it user added image

Hi
Thanks for your comments.
I think the reson why it hasnt got much shadow under the book is because i have a spot light shining straight toward it across the table, so the shadow would basically be cast on the other side. I might move the light more direct above, to cast it staight down to fix that.
I guess the reason that i made the paper so dark was to try and give it that olden look. But yes, maybe i should make it relect some more like, and still keep that look.

Cheers for your inputs

and heres a lightened up version - admittedly in no way ideal user added image
Its just to try and emphasise the difference between the two.

I didnt brighten the shadow of the banana up in the second and probably should have done.

Maybe if the banana was laying on its side it would look more natural. Most bananas dont stand straight like that unless they are bunched together. Just a suggestion.
