head texture tut

hi, like many others im new to maya and need HELP.Im making a animation for the first time and im a bit stuck. iv made my character, rigged him and now using kurts texture tutorial as a guide for the texturing. now iv just finished the second part and i thought id just look at the facial expresseions i have done. but as soon as i moved the guys face the pink colours and shades i did for him stayed where they were. Is this because i was suppose to texture him before rigging him? PLEASE HELP!

I think you might need to parent the texture to the model.

Post a screen shot so I can have a look.
