Hyper-Real Character

Hi Guys, I haven't posted in ages!
Well as a side project I have decided to follow and go through
the book Hyper-Real Creature Creation.
Unfortunatly this book really isn't a step by step guide but I still think it has some awesome tips. Any way I will post my progress,
I have worked on the character for about a total of 12 hours so far but streched over 3 months (when I have a spare min or so)
C&C always welcome!

Detailing Character 5 + (WIREFRAME)

Detailing Character 5 + (WIREFRAME)

In the meantime I have separated the Body
into managable sections. (Hand/Foot/Torso/Head/Arm/Leg)
I still need to move onto the Legs and feet,
then I will define the whole character even further, adding a little more muscle definition etc...

is the shoulder to bicep area meant to look like a fold of material or are you still working that area up?

It will end up like this nearer the end once the model has been defined more. Jeff Unay, the guy responsible actually models this as such in a 'cape' like way to ease the geometry in this area for rigging. Once its all done you wont notice

I know its not my thread, but I have the dvds so...

I was gonna say the same thing about the shoulder area.

Edit: Oops, posted too soon, thanks for the explanation Jay. And yes, your model is looking really good! Hope we don't have to wait another three months for more updates (hehe).

:)

Thanks Guys, yes Jay is 100% correct! Thanks for your input.
I have also realised now from this book that the way your geom
flow is really really important for deformation in animation etc...
once I add more detail and start using the sculpt tool to smooth
out parts of the model it will really start to take proper shape.
(lots of trial and error with the flows!!)

Jay where did you get the DVD? I am battling to get
my hands on it! In South Africa we only have the book!
plus I only see the book on Amazon...

Thanks for the comments guys, I will try keep regular updates.
