Fighter thingy

I am just working on a small project. Basically it is a low poly cartoon WW2 german fighter plane with a couple of big freakin cannons underneath it. I liked this sketch the most out of the little ones in my work book so I think I will develop this idea. I need to make a pilot as well so I was thinking of a low poly tank girl or something similar. I have entered this is a competition elsewhere but I dont think that I will get it finished in time due to time restraints. I will finish it tho.

Ha ha! Thanks jsprogg!

If anyone is looking at this post you should also check out jsprogg's challenge work. It is pretty slick.

Anyhooo! I usually like to make up the sketch in Adobe Illustrator before I model it so that I can get a good feel for what is required. Here is the plane. I am still working on the sexy pilot.

Just an update with the base model. A bit boring but it is made to be low poly so I gotta watch detail levels.

Hmmm I have compared the original concept and the model and the model is too long and sleek. While I like the way it looks it lacks that cartoon punch. I will work on it again tonight ang load up some more images.
Cool

Ok, Here is the model a bit further on with some simple textures on some parts. The textures are just there to give me an idea of where and how the uv's are stacked. I will go over the model a bit later with more advanced textures. Starting to look better.

Hey ya
Good to hear from you murph. Have noticed you are not doing the current challenge. You should enter this time in the norm catagory and go head to head with the legends pony, dae, jpsrogg and 3demon heh heh!
Anyhooo... I am putting this lovely little project on hold I think and I wanna play with kurt and the others at the CGtalk challenge. Cool! I will be posting my wip here so keep an eye out!
Cheers
(ps) I might post one or two more picts of the fighter with updated textures etc.
