Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

i like it..it doesn't look very realistic but very futuristic.
the city doesn't have much detail but it looks very nice the whole modeling... that may sound a bit odd.. user added image

I think you're doing okay on this so far. One of the other guys, Billy_Cat had the same problem, he didn't know how to texture.
What you wanna do is get a sphere, cylinder and perhaps a cube and test those out first, just to see what you are up against. Read the MayaHelp menu too, everything is there also. Follow it step by step. As I've said before to others, you got this far so you can do the rest. There are tutorials here and all over the web too on how to do stuff. Dont give up just cos it gets difficult, we all have trouble at some point. Just check edit poly>texture> automatic mapping, planar, spherical and cylindrical. That should get you going in the right direction.
