Animated buttons for Flash usage

I'm trying to get a simple animated button working for a flash site. I used the quicktime blurb re: vector files on the alias site as a reference.

The animation is 24 frames long. All works fine, except the rendering to vector. After playing around with all the vector attributes, I got the button to look pretty close to the original rendered version, EXCEPT the glow. The movie on the alias site showed a glow on their webpage example.

Can you render a vector from Maya with glows?

Followup question, what is the best method to render out an animated button for Flash as far as transparency around the button?
