Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Ok everyone!!! I choosen an entry, and let me tell you it was very hard to decide on just one with all the great entries. Each piece had something I really liked about it and I thank you all for participating.

The concept that will be in a Sm tut is the entry from "surfermcd".

The reason I decided on this character was I saw something in the first sketch, she had a lot of personality coming through which will transition into 3D well. As well as not being over the top.

I hope to have more contests like this for SM as well as 3D max once I start making tuts there, as its great to get members involved in the site as well as helping them develope their design skills.

Again a big thanks to everyone who entered, I'm very impressed with all your work.

Kurt

Well done everyone, nice stuff all round. Wudn't be surprised if some of you start turning these things into models yourselves. If you do be nice to see the WIP.

Duuuude! I suppose cartooney is good but if it is realistic I have no problems with that at all. If you need more reference drawings I could whip some up - Although I have no idea what her profile would look like??
Thanks Kurt

It would be nice to see Kurt use a cell shader on this one.

I look forward to it.
