This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

That is a wicked tip on the pinching off the geo. Kind of had to fiddle around C4D for a few minutes to sort out the edge. Just had it too close and was causing the corners to hang over. Is there a certain way to cut these? I did a inner extrude and then a typical loop cut around the top edge. I then beveled the corner pieces to get the two and cut the corner middles. Then manually sliced the corners at the bottom of the hole. Just wondering if there is a faster way to utilize loop cutting. Took about 30 seconds so I am not complaining all that much because things like this add up big time on the poly counts...

Thanks again guys...

whew!!! sweet jesus an update!!!

Apologise for the lack of boyz n girlz. I have been super super busy at work...with some heavy deadlines for GI Joe 2....am now back on track with things here and hope to catch up with SM duties too like finishing a new tutorial thats been waiting in the wings...so hope to get on with that this christmas period....apologies to Dave and Nilla and thanks for their patience.

anyway have an update on the P51...finally sealed up the wing. Not putting any detail in here as the flap will go in place...but will most likely add a small extrude inwards though....

cheers and have a good christmas

LOL yep, busy time of the year....dislike with a passion. Looking good Jay...is that an intentional fold along the fuselage and flap space?? bit hard to tell what it is?

Bullet: That flange in the fuse is supposed to be there. It will blend with the flap when Jay adds it back in.

Looking really good Jay.

I have been so busy putting out fires here that I have not been able to get anything done and now with the holidays it's even worse.

Cheers guys and merry christmas!!

Yeah Bullet....of course it is...Its as Rick says...its a flange of sorts for the elevator to house under...have a look at some P51 refs mate. It took me ages to find some good technical ref of it but I did and well there you go.

Hope to update again later...of to play with one of my pressies - Batman:Arkham City

cheers
