Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Hi Jay
They were just test renders just to see how my maps were working will be changing over to physical sun so did not want to go to mad with the lights. Still some little issues with the maps that need fixing front cog is a good example were I have used over lapping UVs and the occlusion bake has gone wrong (fix dont have over lapping) need to have a good look around to see if there are any moreuser added image..........dave

user added image yeah, flitting back and forth from the dark side to the light.

In august I decided to join one of those game projects that posted here looking for help at the end of last summer?
So I've been making lots of creatures for that, and a few other props. Lots of organic modeling and texturing practice. And it's forced me to do, try, and learn/practice some things I otherwise wouldn't have.

I'd like to have posted some of the stuff I've done but because im on an nda thing I can't... But I've been quite pleased with some of it.

One day.....

I would like to see them Ben when they are released, Had to rebake the lot as I did not have the machine gun in place. All you are looking at is a baked out occlusion with a colour on top and a little bump on the cast metal parts, for rendering I am using physical sun with gamma correction nodes to each texture file. Is there a way to bake out a bump map not a normal map...............dave

I cannot find any better pictures or description for the emblem casted into the turret Dave but it does look like a stylized G for General Motors maybe?

Edit:See this pic reminded me I have to texture that siren, I did not notice that sort of shot gun cartage on the light protectors I wonder what it is?
