Reference images

I just wanted to know how all you guys get your reference images for your 3D work.

Do you guys make you own images (with camera) and if so how?
or
Are there any good places to get these images just to practice modelling?

Do you know of any site with tutorials about capturing and/or placing reference material in Maya?

Thanx
