A question about polygon fur for games for Mike

I have this werewolf

is there any special way I should be adding the fur, atm I am placing the fur
like so

where I can I follow the edges, other times they intersect faces.

any advice would be great

that looks like an effective way to go to me. You'll have a better idea once you get the texture on there and see how it looks.
