Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

what happened to nurbs Isoparms??

since version 8.5 there is some real strange behavior going on with nurbs isoparms. I cannot select them anymore like I did usually. instead of I have to drag select over the whole surface, then isoparms are shown in a weird offset. so i have to diselect all isoparms i dont need. this is such a boring workflow. it´s not only a matter with my machine.

are there some settings to change back to a normal and like usual isoparm selection. autodesk crazyness..!!

everything starts and ends in the right place at the right time.

Falot I don't know what you have done but I have 8.5 and Isoparm selection works just the same for me , just right click slect isoparm and choose one , L click and drag for a new one.

I have checked the preferences and I can't see what might might cause your problem.

Maybe it's just one of those random Maya gliches. Maybe resarting would solve the problem.

I draged a selection over 1 half of the object and this are the isoparms kind of offset I get. also I have maya8.5 installed on 4 different computers. the problem is evident on all of them. hm....

ok the only thing I could find that even slightly simulated your problem was in the preferences.

so go to window/ setting/preferences /preferences then under display select Nurbs and then look at surface precision and check to see if it is on standard.

thx for your quick reply! this is so odd. I was crating a new scene to try and everything works just fine. I can´t even reproduce my own problem no matter what. Didn´t even change any settings. I have to test it tomorrow on the other machines.
