Pirate Character

Short project that is my take on a game character of Captain Flint from the show black sails.

Phase 1: MD Clothing creation keeping it simple.

Phase 2: Head Base Mesh sculpt from scratch.

Phase 3: Topo and Texturing in Quixel

Phase 4: Head Texturing

Phase 5: Extra stuff swords more belts maybe pistols etc.

Thanks Yeti, appreciate the encouragement. I keep getting sucked into over detailing everything right now which is a bit pointless as I am trying to keep under 50K tris. Moving on to texturing the head this weekend.

Finally got some time to make progress on the facial textures... finished the base Albedo, Subdermal, Spec & Secondary Spec (Gloss).

Reasonably happy with the result skin needs to be a bit darker. Will play with the saturation in Photoshop on Albedo and Subdermal. See if that makes a difference.

Interested to know if anyone has a good tutorial or overview of making translucency maps? Or Fuzz maps for that matter.

Let me know your thoughts.

Working on additional props for the character while I work out how to do the hair which is killing my life. Pistols need to be resized a bit proportion is a little off.
