City ruins

Ok, it's been ages since i tryed to make high poly scene, so i'm finally starting one.

I was thinking of making modern or semi-modern city ruins, like there was a war.
The goal is to try to make as much details as possible.

This is just a plan for the general layout. Any tips on how to make maybe better camera angle to make it more intresting, and where to be carefull?

Tnx!

Thank you for the reply.

This image is what i would like to aim for:

Give a lot of possibilities for details, though i do need to think of the way to make all those tiny details without spending insane number of polys.

For terrain, i'm not completly sure. If i would aim for post-war scene, i'd make some holes/craters from bombs, and if i will aim for post-earthquake scene, i'd like to make some nasty crack/opening in the ground, somewhere in the center, focus of the image.

the img link is broken!

the post nuclear war...the "Fall Out" atmosphere might be great.

yeah several craters, within them only one will be focused!...

shells scattered over here and there...

though i havn't seen ur img, though i think those details can be carried out by displacement map!

hm, you are right, post-nuclear scene might be very good idea! I was always more of a fantasy fan and not so much fallout fan or so, but somehow this sounds like awesome idea!

Still, i would like to have little details like on the image (i update it so you should see it now).

Tnx for comment!

hmm...pretty hard project.

I think the hardest part of ur's will be creating texture and rendering.

Why dont u try image based modeling?
i think that will make ur work 1000% time easier and smoother.

goodluck...& post WIP.

also,i think dont go for the details manually.Texture will do a great job for it!
