This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

production question

a quick question
having a stupid moment

in film making where does modelling and animating come in ie post or production

pre - storyboard ect
pro - filming
post - editing compositing

so where would modeling and animating come in i take it is post?

post-production.

as most people would say "do it in post", i.e us!

modelling and animation can com in pre-production in the for of pre-viz. which is just proxy animation for a complicated shot.

Just regular production i think, in the end the models will be imported in the footage using flame/smoke /FCP/prod premium/fusion-take your pick-. which is post productionuser added image

nooo - i can see both ways
as modelling is producing assets which is generally done in pro so im really confused atm

pre production - storyboard, funding, pre-viz, script, etc

production - on set filming.

post-production - colouring, comp, vfx

no they are all animations!

the line between VFX and feature length animations is not that fine imo.
