I think he should look more angry. Y'know the sith never gets hugs...

Yes give him a cruel look. And his face should be more unnatural. you know give him some weird features like everyother sith

Darth Vader = Mask
Darth Siddius = Disfigured Face
Darth Maul = Spikes and red face

Have something evil on him. Just my 2 cents!

Louis

This is really looking good mastone! I've been really enjoying watching your model/scene grow.

ok guys,
Since i want to practice texturing and really want to get the best out of the model i decided to make a handpainted texture and started to lay out uv's, since i've never done this before'i've probably made a couple of mistakes already.
I've attached an image to show what i've done already, i haven't attached the limbs to the body yet ...so.
any comment is much appreciated

Ok i've been trying Zbrush for a couple of hours now, and the only thing it seems to do right for me, is getting me angry.
The UI and the way things "work", are really counter-intuitive, to me
I understand how to import the basemesh and save it as a tool, i also understand how to divide it so that it becomes smoother, but then i get a couple a miljon polygons which are impossible to work with when i will import it back in maya.
Now when i export the uv snapshot to photoshop i probably have to handpaint everything(i probably suck more at this than at zbrush).
Now the thing i want to ask is, which program would you use, and could you post your basic workflow, title of a book or a link to a tutorial of either program which you know is usefull.

I want to make it as in the picture(see image).

Thanks in advance

You given Mudbox a go. I use z-brush for a lot of work but found Mudbox to be very user friendly making it easy to incorporate into your work flow. As far as texturing goes I simply open my uv snapshot straight into photoshop cs to begin texturing.

I would begin the process by sculpting all the wrinkles and imperfections on Yoda's face in Mudbox or Z-brush. Then export this as a displacement map and use it as a layer over your uv snapshot to give some depth to your texture map. I would then begin to add more layers and detail to the texture map.

Hope this helps since I would love to see your Yoda model complete.

Good luck,

Leon
