Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Ok FINALLY sorted the normals out....what a pain...here is another with I think better lights. I havent gone into more texture yet...I keep getting an error when I try to use the clone tool...am waiting for a special old drunkard like me to answer then I will move on.

Turn off two-sided lighting can help you to find surfaces that have their normals reversed. They will show up as flat black.

Thanks ct I have done that...all is good normals wise...finally...I have taken your advice and model with that option turned off now LOL...thank you for that.

Eh?? aaawww Nilla I AM blind LOL thats why its bright....I cant see otherwise...or its my screen? I will turn it down for the next one for you...LOL

I know you do Nilla LOL!!! I will get your advice later, I would like to put it in a hangar with a few copies so I will be going for that old WW2 rustic/dingy dirty look with correct lighting...

A little more progress.....the UV's are upshit and Im not going to do it all again...what I get is what I get. Lesson learned...when modelling take into account to clean lines in the model...wich will transfer to the UV (I think I already said this?).
