Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Text from Image Plane

Hi!

I importet an image plane which is a logo. Is there a tool to draw the letters of the text with a tool like a mask? If yes I'd like to draw the mask and extrude it.
Thanks!

instead of doing that in maya, i'd recommend doing something similar in photoshop.

in PS, you can use the pen tool to outline your logo and change the positioning of the anchor weights to get the curves right... after you've done that, you can save the paths you've created, and export them to illustrator (export, paths to illustrator).

you can then take that path file and import it into maya, and it'll create the CV curves based on the path you made in PS... which you can extrude.

Accept no substitutions.
