shatter effect?

Hey guys,.

I have a shot that i need an object shattering. My character interects with this object and is therefore keyframed. I duplicated it and keyed the visibility.

The on the duped object used that as my 'shattered' object. However when i run it,...it doesnt shatter. Does anyone know how to do it? or a script.

The object slides off the shelf and on to the floor

thank you very much in advance

are you using dynamics? or ndynamics?

dynamics has a shatter effect, it breaks your object up and turns the pieces into rigid bodies which you can then attach gravity onto it

that's a "Ch" pronounced as a "K"
