Texture help

Hello,
i've created a texture in photoshop, but how do i get the bump,spec and diffuse of my texture. If i go to channel on photoshop then i can se them there , but i cant save em on my desk to take em to maya later on. when i try to save one, like the spec, it ends up saving the color insted of the spec , whyy? help plz

When youve done your flat color in photoshop and saved it, simply resave it as "spec map", covert it to greyscale and play with the contrast brightness, instant spec map.

specular and bump are attributes that you can use textures to affect within maya materials, textures do not allready have these intrinsic properties.

Simply pick a fairly simple texture and map it to a blinn in the different channels, this is the best way to get an idea of how color values can affect them.
