Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

try a transparent PHONG witha blue color. Turn up the eccentricity and put the reflectivity around half or higher. Might need to make ramp for the shader color though in order to get it to darken as it curves around.

i found a good way to fake it by using the x-ray shader available at highend3d.com, changing the color ramp to whatever color you like, then change the transparency ramp. Works very effectivly giving all ranges of the hard plastic look and clear platic look.
