Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Done some more work on wolverine and have begun working on the legs. I still have a lot of work to do on the gloves and lower body.
If anyone can see any probs with the anatomy at the mo please say since this is an area where I really need to improve.

I still think he's legs are too short and also like he's been horseback riding his whole life, kind of like Zeb Macahan.

lets see him from a side view - at the moment he just looks a little stiff - a little too straight up and down.

I am hoping to rig him in maya once I have got the proportions laid out and so did'nt think that would be to big a issue. Let me know if you think otherwise. With regards to his height I was trying to make him short and stocky but guess I messed up and have got the proportions out.

Thanks for your thoughts.

hey leon - i think your model is looking great. I just think maybe his limbs are a little straight. you would have to lock your arms and legs to stand like your model. naturally your limbs have a bend in them because of muscle tension. your arms, legs, fingers, etc are all bent at rest. so i think it's good to build this into your model.

looking good leon user added image

the muscles around and under the outer shoulder blade area in the back are too small for the physique you have. It makes the model look off balance as from the front he looks in a relaxed pose and from the back he looks like he's sticking his chest out.
I agree with the legs looking a little stubby, a slight lengthening with the upper calves being dropped a little should help.

Cheers for your thoughts guys its much appreciated. I will try and make the limbs look more natural by using the transpose tool in zbrush to make them less rigid. I will also try and get the proportions better by increasing the calf length as suggested.
Thanks for the comment on the portfolio Arran. Have to say the office renders look absolutely stunning and your jacob marley project is looking like it is gonna equal if not better it.

As said before I am gonna come back to this fresh next week so will have an update then.

Thanks for the tips, and keep up the good work guys.

Leon

Made some tweaks to Venom and the Hulk. Although I think the legs on Venom still need to be bulked up a bit more.
