Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Thats it for today...I'll continue tommorow!

Oh my God look at that big low res leg waiting to be attachet!!!
Attach me--> she says
No way bic.h I'm too tired!!!

If you dont wonna fight with geometry allways plan the flow in futher- I just found out that paintfully.
Most of the day I spent trying to get nice geometry flow,but still I have couple of tris :-( :headbang: God damn it!!!!

Here is where I'll pause untill next time,take care! :zzz:

This is just a preview-imagine what would Zbrush do wit 5 mil. polys?!

After playing with sculptPoly tool for 1min and 12 sec:

it just helps add detail into the models, very effective if you know how to use it... but takes a while to get use to lol...

not a bad start, will be keeping tabs on this one.

Not much for today (was at work) but I got the leg's basic flow ready.

I cant wait to finish basic shape so I can finaly add some detail wich will give him real organic look (I hope so)...o damn I forgot about laying out UVs... :headbang:

I heard it works with straight polygons, is this true? Bascially like a powerful polygon brush modeling tool thing?

Yes it works with polys but in huge poly count in 5 levels of division,so you can jump from 1000 to 1000000 and back just by clicking.

As I understand it works in Z depth so it doesnt calculate polys in 3D and thats why is so fast and interactive...I gess.
Great for organic modeling, its like you're sculpting with a brush but it doesnt have a renderer so it best to use it with some 3D package like Maya.

Any way it is becoming one of "must have" CG tool.
