Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

If you have a good programing background, just press F1 in Maya and see some basic MEL language difference from other programing tools-very similar to Java.

"The Mel Companion" by David Stripinis and "Mel Scripting for Maya Animators" by Mark Wilkins are two great books. I have both sitting on my bookshelf and have learned a lot from them. They're great for beginner to advanced level scripters.
