What is " Asset " ?

Hi all. Im just beginner in Maya. I dont know what is " Assets " Concept exactly . Please explain. Thanks All.

An asset is something you use it could be a model or it could be an image. So if I'm going to say model a car my assets could be some car blueprints, some textures I'd saved etcetera.

A lot of people just use the word asset to refer to a model.

Thanks David. Windows 10 needs power & high processor. So I want to Install a version of Linux on my PC. someone told me Linux is a good opinion. which one of many release of Linux is appropriate with Autodesk Maya 2020 ?
