MAYA CRASH

hey i dont know if this has been answered before. but.

Maya crahses alot, especially for me, i dont know what im doing, maybe at times im too impatient with it.
but i have heard that maya saves the file in a temporary folder?

anybody know where to find the folder on Vista????????

plz help, i lost a scene i worked really hard on, and dont want to redo it user added image

when your maya crashes, does a message " fatal error " appear? If it does, a message box usually appears saying fatal error with the path of where your file was saved. it usually saves the file in the temp folder in your drive C.
Try looking for it in C:\Windows\Temp...user added image

When in doubt, save. When not in doubt, save anyway!!

Always save, even if you haven't changed anything. For me it is OCD at this point, but I never lose any work because of a crash!

Things like this happen, so save whenever you change anything.

Lesson learned.

yea temp folder was where i checked, but nothing there, so i thought maybe it would go somewhere else. oh well.

yea i no i should save save save, but when you get into it, you sort of keep going, and forget to save, grrr :headbang:
