Not sure anyone here knows of him but I've had the opportuinity to talk to Vic Navone, one of the animators and creator of The Alien Song and after I asked how they get that GI look, he didn't mention Renderman and he said something to the effect they knew how to do what they do and they didn't use GI. He tells me The Incrdibles is going to be their best film yet... can't wait!!!
